Domestic Violence

Addressing gender-based violence in the home and advocating for survivors' rights.

Overview

Addressing Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is one of the most pervasive forms of gender-based violence in Sri Lanka, affecting women and girls across communities, economic backgrounds, and age groups.

CEJ's work encompasses research, advocacy, and community education, including documentation of the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on domestic violence rates.

Through awareness programs and capacity building, CEJ empowers women to recognize abuse, access support services, and advocate for stronger legal protections.
