Women and Reparations

Advocating for justice and reparations for war-affected women in Sri Lanka.

Overview

Reparations for War-Affected Women

Reparations acknowledge, address, and remedy past human rights violations. In Sri Lanka's armed conflict, women from war-affected Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslim communities have faced displacement, loss, trauma, and harm that demands recognition.

CEJ raises awareness on reparations, advocates for women-centered transitional justice, and empowers affected communities to claim their right to truth, justice, and non-recurrence.

CEJ documents women's testimonies, facilitates dialogue, engages policymakers, and raises public awareness on meaningful reparations beyond financial compensation.
