Urban Poverty

Raising awareness on the lived realities of women in urban poverty across Sri Lanka.

Overview

Women in Urban Poverty

Sri Lanka's economic crisis has deeply affected women in urban poverty, making them increasingly vulnerable and invisible.

CEJ raises awareness on the unique challenges these women face while providing a platform for young women photographers to document their lived narratives.

Two young women photographers spent time with women from urban settlement communities around Colombo, documenting daily lives and the challenges they face.
